The CELSR1 (Cadherin EGF LAG Seven-Pass G-Type Receptor 1) antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study the CELSR1 protein, a member of the non-classical cadherin superfamily. CELSR1 is a key component of the planar cell polarity (PCP) pathway, which regulates tissue organization and polarized cell behaviors during embryonic development, particularly in neural tube closure, cochlear hair cell alignment, and cardiovascular morphogenesis. As a seven-pass transmembrane receptor, it interacts with other core PCP proteins like Frizzled and Van Gogh to coordinate cell orientation and directional signaling.

CELSR1 antibodies are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) to investigate protein expression, localization, and function in developmental and disease contexts. Dysregulation of CELSR1 has been linked to congenital anomalies (e.g., neural tube defects) and cancer progression, where altered cell polarity may drive metastasis. Researchers validate these antibodies using knockout controls or siRNA-mediated silencing to ensure specificity. Both polyclonal and monoclonal variants are available, with applications spanning basic developmental biology, neurobiology, and translational studies targeting CELSR1-related pathologies.
