The RPF2 antibody is a research tool used to detect RPF2 (Ribosomal Protein Factor 2), a conserved protein involved in ribosome biogenesis. RPF2 plays a critical role in the maturation of the 40S ribosomal subunit by facilitating the processing of 18S rRNA within the nucleolus. It interacts with other ribosome assembly factors, such as RPF1 and BMS1. to ensure proper rRNA folding and ribosomal subunit export to the cytoplasm. Dysregulation of RPF2 is linked to ribosomopathies and cancers, as impaired ribosome assembly can trigger stress responses or uncontrolled cell proliferation.

The RPF2 antibody is widely utilized in molecular biology to study ribosome assembly dynamics, cellular growth mechanisms, and disease pathways. It is commonly applied in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to assess RPF2 expression, localization, and interactions.
