The NSD2 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study the nuclear receptor-binding SET domain-containing protein 2 (NSD2), also known as WHSC1 or MMSET. NSD2 is a histone methyltransferase that primarily catalyzes the dimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 36 (H3K36me2), playing a critical role in epigenetic regulation of gene expression. It is involved in chromatin remodeling, transcriptional elongation, and DNA repair. Dysregulation of NSD2 has been linked to several diseases, most notably cancer. For instance, NSD2 overexpression or activating mutations are associated with hematological malignancies, including multiple myeloma, where t(4;14) chromosomal translocation leads to its aberrant expression.
