Upon ligand binding, IRAK1 is recruited to receptor complexes via adaptor proteins like MyD88. leading to its phosphorylation and activation. This triggers downstream signaling cascades, including NF-κB and MAPK pathways, which drive inflammatory cytokine production and immune responses. Dysregulation of IRAK1 has been linked to autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammation, and cancers, making it a target for therapeutic research.
