The GAS2L1 (Growth Arrest-Specific 2 Like 1) antibody is a tool used to study the GAS2L1 protein, a member of the GAS2 family involved in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics and cell cycle progression. GAS2L1 contains conserved domains (CH, GAR) that enable interactions with microtubules and microfilaments, playing a role in mitotic spindle organization and chromosome segregation during cell division. Research highlights its importance in maintaining genomic stability, with dysregulation linked to mitotic errors and cancer progression, such as glioblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.

This antibody is widely employed in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to detect GAS2L1 expression, localization, and interactions. Studies using the antibody have revealed its cell cycle-dependent expression, peaking during mitosis, and its role in cellular stress responses, including DNA damage repair. Notably, GAS2L1 knockdown experiments (supported by antibody validation) demonstrate its necessity for proper spindle assembly and chromosome alignment. Recent work also implicates GAS2L1 in neurodevelopmental processes and ciliogenesis. As an emerging biomarker and therapeutic target, the GAS2L1 antibody remains critical for unraveling its dual roles in physiological homeostasis and disease mechanisms.
