The ADAMTS9 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study the ADAMTS9 (A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs 9) protein, a member of the ADAMTS family of secreted zinc-dependent metalloproteases. ADAMTS9 is involved in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, cell migration, and tissue development by cleaving proteoglycans like aggrecan and versican. It plays roles in organogenesis, angiogenesis, and tumor suppression, with studies linking its dysregulation to cancers, fibrosis, osteoarthritis, and metabolic disorders.

Structurally, ADAMTS9 contains a propeptide, metalloproteinase domain, disintegrin-like module, thrombospondin type-1 motifs, and a unique C-terminal domain. Its antibodies, often polyclonal or monoclonal, target specific epitopes within these domains for applications such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. These antibodies help elucidate ADAMTS9's tissue distribution, interaction partners, and mechanistic contributions to diseases. Recent research highlights its tumor-suppressive effects via ECM modulation and Wnt/β-catenin pathway regulation. However, challenges remain in characterizing its full functional spectrum due to substrate diversity and complex post-translational modifications. Reliable ADAMTS9 antibodies are critical for advancing insights into its physiological and pathological roles.
