CFC1 (Cripto-1/FRL-1/Cryptic family protein 1) antibodies target a member of the EGF-CFC protein family, which plays critical roles in embryonic development, particularly in the Nodal signaling pathway. CFC1 acts as a co-receptor for Nodal, a TGF-β superfamily ligand, facilitating its binding to activin receptors and activating downstream Smad2/3 signaling.
