The INPP5K (Inositol Polyphosphate-5-Phosphatase K) antibody is a tool used to detect and study the INPP5K protein, a member of the phosphoinositide 5-phosphatase family. INPP5K, encoded by the *INPP5K* gene located on chromosome 17p13.3 in humans, hydrolyzes phosphatidylinositol (4.5)-bisphosphate [PI(4.5)P₂] to phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate [PI4P], regulating phosphoinositide signaling pathways. This enzyme is critical for cellular processes such as vesicle trafficking, cytoskeletal organization, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response. Mutations in *INPP5K* are linked to congenital muscular dystrophy with cataracts and intellectual disability (MDCCAID), highlighting its role in muscle and neural function.
