The THUMPD3 (THUMP domain-containing protein 3) antibody is a tool used to study the THUMPD3 protein, a conserved eukaryotic enzyme implicated in RNA modification. THUMPD3 belongs to the THUMP family, characterized by a THUMP (THioUridine synthases, Methyltransferases, and Pseudouridine synthases) domain involved in tRNA processing. Specifically, THUMPD3 functions as an S-adenosylmethionine (SAM)-dependent methyltransferase, catalyzing the post-transcriptional methylation of tRNA, which is critical for stabilizing tRNA structure, ensuring translational fidelity, and regulating cellular stress responses.
