The KCNS3 antibody targets the KCNS3 protein, encoded by the KCNS3 gene (Potassium Voltage-Gated Channel Modifier Subfamily S Member 3). This protein belongs to the voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channel family, specifically functioning as a regulatory subunit that modulates the activity of other pore-forming Kv alpha subunits. KCNS3 is widely expressed in the central nervous system (CNS), particularly in neurons, where it influences neuronal excitability, action potential repolarization, and synaptic signaling. Dysregulation of KCNS3 has been implicated in neurological disorders such as epilepsy, chronic pain, and neurodegenerative conditions, as well as in cancer progression due to its role in cell proliferation and migration.
