The CYB5R4 antibody is a research tool designed to detect cytochrome b5 reductase 4 (CYB5R4), an enzyme belonging to the NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase family. CYB5R4 is involved in redox metabolism, facilitating electron transfer from NADH to cytochrome b5. which plays roles in lipid biosynthesis, drug metabolism, and cellular detoxification. Unlike other isoforms (e.g., CYB5R3), CYB5R4 is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria, suggesting unique regulatory functions in these organelles.

Antibodies targeting CYB5R4 are primarily used to study its expression, subcellular distribution, and interactions in various tissues and disease models. Research indicates that CYB5R4 may influence metabolic pathways, including fatty acid desaturation and cholesterol synthesis, and has been implicated in cancer progression, neurodegenerative disorders, and oxidative stress responses.
