The CORO2A antibody targets coronin 2A (also known as Clipin-C or Coronin-1C), a member of the coronin family of actin-binding proteins. Coronins regulate actin cytoskeleton dynamics, which are critical for cellular processes like migration, phagocytosis, and vesicle trafficking. CORO2A is ubiquitously expressed but particularly enriched in immune cells, neurons, and certain cancer cells. It interacts with F-actin and other proteins, such as the Arp2/3 complex, to modulate actin polymerization and cell motility. Studies suggest CORO2A plays roles in immune response regulation, neuronal development, and cancer metastasis.

CORO2A antibodies are widely used in research to investigate the protein's expression, localization, and function. They are employed in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry to study CORO2A in normal tissues, disease models, or cancer biopsies. Dysregulation of CORO2A has been linked to pathologies, including neurodevelopmental disorders, autoimmune diseases, and tumor progression. For instance, reduced CORO2A levels correlate with impaired T-cell activation, while its overexpression in cancers may enhance invasive behavior. Validated CORO2A antibodies help elucidate these mechanisms, though specificity must be confirmed via knockout controls or siRNA-based validation to avoid cross-reactivity with other coronin isoforms.
