**Background of SHPK Antibodies**

SHPK (Sphingosine kinase) antibodies are tools used to study the role of sphingosine kinases, primarily SphK1 and SphK2. in cellular signaling and disease. Sphingosine kinases catalyze the phosphorylation of sphingosine to sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a bioactive lipid regulating processes like cell survival, proliferation, immune response, and angiogenesis. Dysregulation of SphK/S1P signaling is linked to cancer, inflammation, fibrosis, and metabolic disorders.

Antibodies targeting SphK isoforms enable researchers to detect protein expression, localization, and activity in tissues or cultured cells. For example, SphK1 antibodies help explore its oncogenic role in cancers, where overexpression correlates with tumor progression and chemoresistance.
