The VRK1 (Vaccinia-Related Kinase 1) antibody is a crucial tool for studying the VRK1 protein, a serine/threonine kinase involved in diverse cellular processes. VRK1. part of the VRK kinase family, plays roles in cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response, and chromatin remodeling. It phosphorylates substrates like histone H3. p53. and BANF1. influencing nuclear envelope assembly, apoptosis, and genome stability. Dysregulation of VRK1 has been linked to cancers, neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and developmental disorders, driving interest in its mechanistic and therapeutic exploration.

VRK1 antibodies are widely used in research to detect protein expression, localization, and interactions via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. They aid in assessing VRK1’s tissue-specific expression, its upregulation in tumors, or its altered activity in neurological models. Commercial VRK1 antibodies are typically raised in rabbits or mice, targeting specific epitopes (e.g., N-terminal or catalytic domains), and require validation for specificity using knockout controls.
