The TCEAL9 (Transcription Elongation Factor A Like 9) antibody is a tool used to study the TCEAL9 protein, a member of the TCEAL family involved in transcriptional regulation and chromatin remodeling. TCEAL9 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome Xq22.1 and is implicated in modulating transcription through interactions with RNA polymerase II and other transcription elongation factors. It plays roles in cellular processes such as differentiation, apoptosis, and cell cycle control, with emerging links to cancer biology.

Studies suggest TCEAL9 may act as a tumor suppressor, as its expression is frequently downregulated in cancers like ovarian, breast, and prostate cancer. Reduced TCEAL9 levels correlate with tumor progression, metastasis, and poor prognosis, potentially due to its role in suppressing oncogenic signaling pathways (e.g., Wnt/β-catenin) or regulating epigenetic modifiers.
