RAB11A antibodies are essential tools for studying the RAB11A protein, a member of the Ras-related small GTPase family involved in regulating intracellular vesicular trafficking. RAB11A plays a critical role in recycling endosome function, mediating the transport of cargo proteins and membranes between endosomes, the trans-Golgi network, and the plasma membrane. It is crucial for processes such as cytokinesis, cell polarity establishment, and receptor recycling (e.g., EGFR, transferrin receptor). Dysregulation of RAB11A has been linked to cancers, neurodegenerative disorders, and ciliopathies, making its study biomedically relevant.

Antibodies targeting RAB11A are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to assess protein expression, subcellular localization, and interactions. Due to high homology among RAB family members, antibody specificity is rigorously validated using knockout/knockdown controls. Commercial RAB11A antibodies are typically raised against conserved epitopes (e.g., N-terminal or C-terminal regions) and are available in monoclonal or polyclonal formats. Researchers often verify cross-reactivity across species (human, mouse, rat) depending on experimental models.
