The BCL7A antibody targets the B-cell lymphoma 7 protein family member A (BCL7A), a component of the SWI/SNF chromatin-remodeling complex, specifically the BAF (BRG1/BRM-associated factor) subset. BCL7A plays a role in regulating gene expression by modifying chromatin structure, impacting cellular processes such as DNA repair, differentiation, and tumor suppression. Dysregulation of BCL7A has been linked to cancers, particularly B-cell malignancies like Burkitt’s lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), where chromosomal translocations or mutations may disrupt its function. Additionally, BCL7A is implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders, including Coffin-Lowry syndrome, when associated with SWI/SNF complex anomalies.
