Carnitine palmitoyltransferase 2 (CPT2) is a mitochondrial enzyme critical for fatty acid β-oxidation, facilitating the transport of long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria for energy production. As a key component of the carnitine shuttle system, CPT2 catalyzes the conversion of acylcarnitines back to acyl-CoA esters, enabling their entry into the metabolic pathway. Deficiencies in CPT2 function are linked to metabolic disorders, including life-threatening hepatic encephalopathy, myopathy, and hypoketotic hypoglycemia, particularly in infants.

CPT2 antibodies are essential tools in biomedical research and diagnostics, widely used to detect and quantify CPT2 protein expression in tissues or cultured cells. They aid in studying mitochondrial dysfunction, lipid metabolism disorders, and tissue-specific CPT2 distribution.
