The ULK3 (Unc-51-like kinase 3) antibody is a research tool used to study the ULK3 protein, a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the ULK/ATG1 family. ULK3 shares structural homology with ULK1 and ULK2. key regulators of autophagy initiation, but its functional roles are distinct and less characterized. Unlike ULK1. which is central to autophagy, ULK3 is implicated in non-canonical pathways, including cell cycle regulation, primary cilia dynamics, and stress-responsive signaling. It interacts with proteins like SMADs to modulate TGF-β signaling and may influence cancer progression or developmental processes. ULK3 expression is tissue-specific and context-dependent, often dysregulated in cancers, making it a potential therapeutic target.

ULK3 antibodies are typically generated using immunogens derived from human or murine ULK3 sequences, such as recombinant proteins or synthetic peptides. These antibodies enable detection of ULK3 in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry, aiding in studies of its localization, expression levels, and post-translational modifications.
