The LRP12 antibody targets the Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Related Protein 12 (LRP12), a transmembrane protein belonging to the LDL receptor family. LRP12. also known as ST7R, is involved in cellular signaling pathways, including Wnt and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling, though its precise biological functions remain under investigation. It plays roles in cell adhesion, intracellular trafficking, and receptor-mediated endocytosis, with emerging links to cancer progression, neurodevelopment, and metabolic regulation. Dysregulation of LRP12 has been implicated in tumorigenesis, particularly in gliomas and gastrointestinal cancers, where it may act as a tumor suppressor or promoter depending on context.

LRP12 antibodies are critical tools for studying protein expression, localization, and interaction partners in research settings. They are widely used in techniques like immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting, and immunofluorescence (IF) to assess LRP12 levels in tissues or cell lines. Commercial LRP12 antibodies are typically raised in rabbits or mice, with validation often involving knockout cell lines to confirm specificity. Challenges in antibody development include ensuring minimal cross-reactivity with other LDL receptor family members due to structural similarities. Recent studies also explore LRP12's potential role in neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, and metabolic syndromes, driving demand for reliable antibodies to advance mechanistic insights.
