IKZF4 (Ikaros Family Zinc Finger Protein 4), also known as Eos, is a transcription factor belonging to the Ikaros zinc finger protein family. It plays a critical role in immune regulation, particularly in modulating T-cell function and maintaining the stability of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Structurally, IKZF4 contains multiple zinc finger domains that mediate DNA binding and protein interactions, enabling its participation in chromatin remodeling and transcriptional repression. It interacts with complexes such as Mi-2/NuRD to regulate gene silencing, impacting immune tolerance and inflammatory responses.

Research highlights IKZF4's role in autoimmune diseases and cancer. Its dysregulation is associated with conditions like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), rheumatoid arthritis, and T-cell malignancies. In cancer, altered IKZF4 expression may contribute to tumor immune evasion, making it a potential therapeutic target. Antibodies targeting IKZF4 are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function. These antibodies are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), aiding in the exploration of IKZF4's molecular mechanisms in health and disease. Recent studies also investigate its interplay with other Ikaros family members, revealing complex regulatory networks in immune homeostasis.
