The MGST1 (Microsomal Glutathione S-Transferase 1) antibody is a research tool targeting the MGST1 protein, a membrane-bound enzyme integral to cellular detoxification and oxidative stress response. MGST1 belongs to the glutathione S-transferase superfamily, which catalyzes the conjugation of glutathione to electrophilic substrates, facilitating the neutralization of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and xenobiotics. Additionally, MGST1 is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, where oxidative stress contributes to pathogenesis. Antibodies against MGST1 are essential for detecting protein expression via techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. They help elucidate MGST1's tissue-specific distribution, subcellular localization, and regulatory mechanisms.
