The ROBO2 (Roundabout Homolog 2) antibody is a tool used to detect and study the ROBO2 protein, a transmembrane receptor critical in the Slit-Robo signaling pathway. ROBO2. part of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily, interacts with Slit ligands to regulate cell migration, axon guidance, and tissue morphogenesis during development. It plays a key role in neural circuit formation, vascular patterning, and organogenesis, particularly in the urinary system. Dysregulation of ROBO2 is linked to congenital anomalies like vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) and kidney malformations, as well as cancers where it may influence metastasis or proliferation.

ROBO2 antibodies are essential in research to visualize protein expression, localization, and interactions via techniques like immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, or immunofluorescence. They help elucidate ROBO2’s role in developmental disorders and cancer progression. Commercial ROBO2 antibodies are typically raised against specific epitopes, often in extracellular Ig or fibronectin domains. Validation for specificity (e.g., knockout controls) is crucial due to potential cross-reactivity with homologous proteins like ROBO1.
