The Regulator of Chromosome Condensation 1 (RCC1) is a critical protein involved in cell cycle regulation, primarily functioning as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the Ras-related nuclear (Ran) GTPase. RCC1 binds to chromatin through its interaction with histones and is essential for maintaining the Ran-GTP/Ran-GDP gradient, which governs nucleocytoplasmic transport, mitotic spindle assembly, and nuclear envelope formation during mitosis. Its seven-bladed β-propeller structure enables dynamic association with chromatin, facilitating spatial regulation of Ran-GTP production.

RCC1 antibodies are widely used tools to study its expression, localization, and function in cellular processes. These antibodies are crucial for applications such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to investigate RCC1's role in cell cycle progression, genome stability, and cancer biology.
