The DLG2 antibody targets the Discs Large Homolog 2 (DLG2) protein, a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family. DLG2. also known as PSD-93 or Chapsyn-110. is primarily expressed in the brain, particularly at postsynaptic densities, where it plays a critical role in synaptic organization, signaling, and plasticity. Structurally, DLG2 contains PDZ, SH3. and guanylate kinase (GK) domains, enabling interactions with receptors, ion channels, and scaffolding proteins to maintain neuronal architecture and regulate signal transduction.

Research links DLG2 to neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disability. Genetic variations in DLG2 are associated with altered synaptic function and cognitive deficits. In cancer, DLG2 has been implicated as a tumor suppressor in certain contexts, with dysregulation observed in gliomas and other malignancies.

DLG2 antibodies are widely used in neuroscience and cancer research to study protein localization, expression levels, and molecular interactions via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. These antibodies help elucidate DLG2's role in disease mechanisms and its potential as a therapeutic target.
