The IPO11 antibody targets Importin 11 (IPO11), a nuclear transport receptor belonging to the importin β family. IPO11 facilitates the transport of proteins from the cytoplasm to the nucleus by forming heterodimers with importin α adaptors, recognizing cargo proteins containing classical nuclear localization signals (NLS). It plays a critical role in maintaining cellular processes such as gene expression regulation, cell cycle progression, and genome stability. IPO11 has been implicated in cancer research due to its interaction with oncogenic proteins like β-catenin, influencing Wnt signaling and tumor progression. Studies suggest IPO11 overexpression in certain cancers (e.g., colorectal, hepatocellular carcinoma) correlates with poor prognosis, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target or biomarker.

The IPO11 antibody is widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to detect IPO11 expression and localization in cells or tissues. Researchers utilize it to explore IPO11's functional roles in nuclear transport mechanisms, disease pathways, and its regulatory effects on ubiquitination processes.
