CALCOCO1 (Calcium Binding and Coiled-Coil Domain 1), also known as NDP52 (Nuclear Dot Protein 52), is a multifunctional adaptor protein involved in selective autophagy, innate immunity, and intracellular trafficking. Initially identified as an autoantigen in primary biliary cirrhosis, it gained prominence for its role in targeting intracellular pathogens (e.g., Salmonella) and damaged organelles to autophagosomes via ubiquitin-binding mechanisms. The CALCOCO1 antibody is a critical tool for studying these processes, enabling researchers to detect and quantify the protein's expression, localization, and interactions in various experimental models.

This antibody is widely used in techniques like immunofluorescence, Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation to investigate CALCOCO1's function in bridging autophagy receptors (e.g., LC3/GABARAP) with ubiquitinated cargo. Studies utilizing CALCOCO1 antibodies have elucidated its involvement in neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and infection, particularly its interplay with TBK1 kinase and NF-κB signaling.
