The THAP12 antibody is a tool used to study the THAP domain-containing protein 12 (THAP12), a member of the THAP family of zinc-coordinating DNA-binding proteins. THAP12. also known as Thanatos-associated protein 12. is involved in transcriptional regulation and chromatin modification. It contains a conserved THAP domain at its N-terminus, which mediates sequence-specific DNA binding and protein-protein interactions. THAP12 is implicated in diverse cellular processes, including cell cycle control, apoptosis, and epigenetic regulation. Studies suggest it may function as part of multi-protein complexes, potentially interacting with chromatin remodelers or transcription factors to modulate gene expression.

Antibodies targeting THAP12 are primarily used in research to investigate its expression patterns, subcellular localization, and molecular interactions.
