TUBGCP4 (Tubulin Gamma Complex Component 4) is a key subunit of the γ-tubulin ring complex (γ-TuRC), a multi-protein assembly critical for microtubule nucleation and organization in eukaryotic cells. As part of the γ-TuRC, TUBGCP4 contributes to the formation of microtubule networks essential for cell division, intracellular transport, and maintenance of cell shape. The γ-TuRC anchors to centrosomes and other microtubule-organizing centers (MTOCs), where it templates the polymerization of α/β-tubulin dimers into microtubules. Antibodies targeting TUBGCP4 are widely used in research to study centrosome biology, mitotic spindle formation, and defects in microtubule dynamics linked to developmental disorders or cancers.
