The ZBTB8A antibody targets the ZBTB8A protein, a member of the zinc finger and BTB domain-containing (ZBTB) family, which plays roles in transcriptional regulation and cellular processes. ZBTB8A, also known as zinc finger protein 916 (ZNF916), contains a BTB/POZ domain for protein interactions and zinc finger motifs for DNA binding. It is implicated in tumorigenesis, acting as a potential tumor suppressor or oncogene depending on cellular context. Studies suggest ZBTB8A interacts with p53 and MYC pathways, influencing cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, or proliferation. Dysregulation of ZBTB8A is linked to cancers, including breast and prostate cancer.
