FASTKD1 (FAST kinase domain-containing protein 1) is a mitochondrial protein belonging to the FAST kinase family, which plays a role in regulating RNA metabolism and mitochondrial function. It is implicated in the processing of mitochondrial RNA and maintaining oxidative phosphorylation, critical for cellular energy production. Studies suggest FASTKD1 interacts with mitochondrial ribosomes and influences the stability or maturation of specific mitochondrial mRNAs, linking it to mitochondrial homeostasis and stress responses. Dysregulation of FASTKD1 has been associated with neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and mitochondrial disorders, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic or diagnostic target.

FASTKD1 antibodies are essential tools for detecting and quantifying FASTKD1 protein expression in research. They enable investigations into its subcellular localization, expression patterns under physiological or pathological conditions (e.g., hypoxia, metabolic stress), and interactions with other mitochondrial components. These antibodies are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.
