The MAPRE3 antibody targets the microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 3 (MAPRE3), also known as EB3. a critical regulator of microtubule dynamics in eukaryotic cells. EB3 belongs to the end-binding (EB) protein family, which includes EB1. EB2. and EB3. and is characterized by its ability to bind the plus ends of growing microtubules. These proteins facilitate interactions between microtubules and cellular components, playing essential roles in cell division, intracellular transport, cell migration, and polarization. EB3 specifically contributes to microtubule stabilization, actin-microtubule crosstalk, and spindle orientation during mitosis. It is widely expressed in tissues, particularly in the brain, where it supports neuronal development and synaptic plasticity.

The MAPRE3 antibody is a key tool for studying EB3 localization, expression, and function. It is used in techniques like immunofluorescence, Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation to investigate EB3’s role in cellular processes and diseases. Dysregulation of EB3 has been linked to cancer progression, neurological disorders, and developmental defects. For example, EB3 overexpression in tumors correlates with metastasis and poor prognosis, while its deficiency impacts neuronal migration. Researchers also employ MAPRE3 antibodies to explore EB3’s interaction with binding partners, such as APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) and CLIP-170. which mediate microtubule-cortex anchoring. Available as monoclonal or polyclonal variants, these antibodies are validated for specificity across human, mouse, and rat models, aiding mechanistic studies in cell biology and disease research.
