背景信息

CABLES1 (Cdk5 and Abl enzyme substrate 1) is a cell cycle regulatory protein encoded by the *CABLES1* gene located on chromosome 18q11.2. It belongs to the CABLES family of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK)-interacting proteins and contains a conserved C-terminal domain that facilitates interactions with CDKs. CABLES1 functions as a tumor suppressor by modulating CDK activity, particularly through its binding to CDK3 and CDK5. and plays a role in cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, and DNA damage response. It also interacts with p53. enhancing its transcriptional activity to regulate cell fate decisions.
