**Background of SIGMAR1 Antibody**

The sigma-1 receptor (SIGMAR1) is a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane chaperone protein located primarily at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-mitochondria interface. It plays a critical role in modulating cellular stress responses, calcium signaling, and mitochondrial function, with significant implications in neuroprotection, ion channel regulation, and lipid metabolism. SIGMAR1 is highly expressed in the central nervous system, where it interacts with various client proteins, neurotransmitters, and ion channels, influencing processes such as neuronal survival, synaptic plasticity, and neuroinflammation.

SIGMAR1 antibodies are immunological tools designed to detect and study this receptor in research and diagnostic contexts.
