The KAT5 antibody is a crucial tool in studying the KAT5 protein, a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) also known as TIP60. Belonging to the MYST family of HATs, KAT5 plays a pivotal role in chromatin remodeling by acetylating histones, particularly H4 and H2A, thereby regulating gene expression, DNA repair, and cellular stress responses. It is integral to multiple pathways, including the DNA damage response (DDR) via interaction with ATM/ATR kinases, apoptosis regulation through acetylation of p53. and cell cycle control. Dysregulation of KAT5 has been linked to cancers, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging.

KAT5 antibodies are widely used in research to detect and quantify the protein’s expression, localization, and activity in cells or tissues. Applications include Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunoprecipitation (IP), and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP-seq).
