The ARHGEF9 antibody targets the ARHGEF9 protein, encoded by the ARHGEF9 gene (HGNC:14460), which belongs to the Dbl family of Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). ARHGEF9. also known as collybistin, plays a critical role in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics by activating Cdc42. a Rho GTPase involved in neuronal development, synapse formation, and inhibitory neurotransmission. It interacts with gephyrin, a scaffolding protein essential for clustering GABAₐ and glycine receptors at postsynaptic membranes. Mutations in ARHGEF9 are linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, including epilepsy, intellectual disability, and autism spectrum disorders, underscoring its importance in maintaining synaptic stability and inhibitory signaling pathways.

ARHGEF9 antibodies are widely used in neuroscience research to study protein expression, localization, and function in both healthy and diseased states. These antibodies enable techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to visualize ARHGEF9 distribution in brain tissues, cultured neurons, or transfected cell models.
