ACTL8 (actin-like 8) is a member of the actin-related protein (ARP) family, which shares structural homology with conventional actins but performs specialized functions in cellular processes. The ACTL8 gene encodes a protein containing conserved actin-fold domains and a unique N-terminal coiled-coil region, suggesting roles in molecular interactions or structural organization. While its precise biological function remains under investigation, ACTL8 is implicated in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics, chromatin remodeling, and intracellular transport, often through forming complexes with other ARPs or binding partners like ATPases or histone modifiers.

ACTL8 antibodies are valuable tools for studying its expression patterns, subcellular localization (e.g., cytoplasmic or nuclear), and involvement in diseases. Research links ACTL8 to cancer progression, where its dysregulation may influence cell proliferation, migration, or genomic instability.
