The SYT3 antibody targets synaptotagmin-3 (SYT3), a calcium-binding protein belonging to the synaptotagmin family, which plays critical roles in regulating synaptic vesicle trafficking, exocytosis, and endocytosis. SYT3 is characterized by two C2 domains (C2A and C2B) that mediate calcium-dependent interactions with membranes and SNARE proteins. Unlike other synaptotagmins, SYT3 is expressed not only in neuronal tissues but also in secretory cells, including pancreatic β-cells and endocrine tissues, suggesting broader regulatory functions in calcium-triggered membrane fusion events. It is implicated in modulating synaptic plasticity, hormone secretion, and vesicle recycling.

SYT3 antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function in both physiological and pathological contexts.
