The Rho-associated coiled-coil kinase 2 (ROCK2) antibody is a crucial tool for studying the ROCK2 protein, a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the AGC family of kinases. ROCK2. along with its isoform ROCK1. plays a pivotal role in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics, cell adhesion, migration, and apoptosis through its interaction with Rho GTPases, particularly RhoA. It mediates downstream signaling by phosphorylating substrates such as myosin light chain (MLC) and LIM kinase, influencing actomyosin contractility and stress fiber formation.

ROCK2 is implicated in diverse physiological and pathological processes, including cardiovascular remodeling, neuronal degeneration, cancer metastasis, and fibrosis. Its overexpression or hyperactivity has been linked to hypertension, atherosclerosis, and glaucoma. The ROCK2 antibody enables detection and quantification of ROCK2 expression in tissues and cell lines via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It also aids in elucidating ROCK2's spatial-temporal localization and activation status under experimental or disease conditions.

Researchers frequently use ROCK2-specific antibodies to validate gene silencing (e.g., siRNA/CRISPR) or assess pharmacological inhibition by compounds like fasudil or Y-27632. As ROCK2-selective inhibitors gain traction in drug development, high-specificity antibodies are essential for distinguishing ROCK2 from ROCK1. which share ~65% homology but exhibit distinct tissue distributions and functions.
