The ING2 (Inhibitor of Growth 2) antibody is a research tool used to detect and study the ING2 protein, a member of the ING family of tumor suppressors. ING2 is a nuclear protein involved in chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and cellular stress responses. It interacts with histone acetyltransferase (HAT) and histone deacetylase (HDAC) complexes, modulating histone acetylation status to influence gene expression. ING2 plays roles in cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, DNA repair, and senescence, often acting as a tumor suppressor by regulating p53-dependent pathways. Dysregulation of ING2 has been linked to cancers, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging.

The ING2 antibody is widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) to assess protein expression, localization, and interactions in cell lines or tissues. Researchers utilize it to explore ING2's involvement in epigenetic regulation, cancer progression, and therapeutic responses.
