The HMOX2 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and analyze heme oxygenase 2 (HMOX2), an enzyme critical in heme catabolism. HMOX2. constitutively expressed in most tissues, catalyzes the degradation of heme into carbon monoxide (CO), biliverdin (later converted to bilirubin), and free iron. Unlike its inducible isoform HMOX1. HMOX2 is primarily involved in maintaining cellular homeostasis under physiological conditions. It plays a vital role in modulating oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the brain, vascular system, and reproductive organs.
