The TACC2 (Transforming Acidic Coiled-Coil Containing Protein 2) antibody is a tool used to study the TACC2 protein, a member of the conserved TACC family involved in cellular processes such as mitotic spindle organization, transcriptional regulation, and microtubule dynamics. TACC2. encoded by the *TACC2* gene in humans, shares structural homology with TACC1 and TACC3. including a characteristic coiled-coil domain. However, its functional roles appear distinct, with studies linking it to cell cycle progression, differentiation, and cancer biology. TACC2 is expressed in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, contributing to tissue-specific functions in the brain, testes, and other organs. Dysregulation of TACC2 has been implicated in cancers, including breast and ovarian tumors, where it may act as an oncogene or tumor suppressor depending on context.

Antibodies targeting TACC2 enable researchers to detect its expression, localization, and interactions via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Commercial TACC2 antibodies are typically raised against specific epitopes, often validated using knockout controls to confirm specificity. Challenges in TACC2 research include cross-reactivity with other TACC family members and isoform-specific detection, necessitating careful antibody validation. Current studies focus on elucidating TACC2's role in cancer progression, neuronal development, and its potential as a therapeutic target. Ongoing efforts aim to clarify its molecular mechanisms, particularly in chromatin remodeling complexes and centrosome amplification pathways.
