The insulin-like growth factor 2 receptor (IGF2R), also known as the cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor, is a transmembrane protein involved in lysosome-targeting pathways and receptor-mediated endocytosis. It binds insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2), a key mitogen regulating fetal growth, and targets it for degradation, thereby modulating cell proliferation and differentiation. IGF2R also interacts with other ligands, including TGF-β and granzyme B, and plays roles in tumor suppression, immune regulation, and tissue homeostasis. Dysregulation of IGF2R is linked to cancers, developmental disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

IGF2R antibodies are tools used to study receptor expression, localization, and function in research. They enable detection of IGF2R via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry.
