ABCB9. a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily, is a transmembrane protein primarily localized to lysosomal membranes. It functions as an ATP-dependent transporter, facilitating the movement of specific substrates across membranes, though its exact physiological substrates remain under investigation. ABCB9 is structurally characterized by two nucleotide-binding domains (NBDs) and two transmembrane domains (TMDs), typical of ABC transporters, which hydrolyze ATP to drive substrate translocation. It is implicated in lysosomal homeostasis, potentially participating in antigen processing, peptide transport, or lipid metabolism, with studies suggesting a role in maintaining cellular stress responses.

ABCB9 antibodies are critical tools for detecting and quantifying ABCB9 protein expression in research. They enable the study of its subcellular localization, expression patterns across tissues, and regulatory mechanisms under physiological or pathological conditions. These antibodies are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF).
