The WBP11 antibody targets the WW domain-binding protein 11 (WBP11), a RNA-binding protein implicated in pre-mRNA splicing and post-transcriptional gene regulation. WBP11. also known as SIPP1 or BRAP1. contains a proline-rich region and interacts with the WW domains of splicing factors like YTHDC1 and PRPF40A, playing a role in spliceosome assembly and alternative splicing. It localizes to nuclear speckles, dynamic subdomains enriched in pre-mRNA processing factors.

Studies suggest WBP11 regulates splicing by bridging components of the exon junction complex (EJC) and spliceosomal machinery. Its dysfunction is linked to aberrant splicing events in cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. The WBP11 antibody is widely used in molecular biology to study RNA metabolism, splicing mechanisms, and protein-protein interactions via techniques such as Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence.
