The Voltage-Dependent Anion Channel 2 (VDAC2) is a mitochondrial outer membrane protein belonging to the VDAC family, which includes three isoforms (VDAC1. VDAC2. VDAC3). VDAC2 regulates the transport of ions, metabolites (e.g., ATP, ADP), and apoptotic factors across the mitochondrial membrane, playing a critical role in energy metabolism, calcium signaling, and apoptosis.
