The THRSP (Thyroid Hormone Responsive Spot 14 Protein) antibody is a tool used to study the role of THRSP, a small nuclear protein encoded by the *THRSP* gene. Primarily expressed in metabolically active tissues like the liver, adipose tissue, and mammary glands, THRSP is regulated by thyroid hormones (T3/T4) and plays a key role in lipid synthesis and energy homeostasis. It interacts with transcription factors to modulate the expression of enzymes involved in fatty acid and triglyceride production, linking it to metabolic adaptations during fasting, feeding, or cold exposure.

THRSP's expression is also influenced by insulin, carbohydrates, and dietary fats, making it a focus in obesity, diabetes, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) research. In breast tissue, it is associated with lactation and lipid droplet formation. Dysregulation of THRSP has been observed in certain cancers, suggesting potential oncogenic roles.

The THRSP antibody detects and quantifies THRSP protein levels in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Researchers use it to investigate tissue-specific expression patterns, hormonal responses, and metabolic pathways.
