The STARD8 (StAR-related lipid transfer domain protein 8) antibody is a tool used to detect and study the STARD8 protein, a member of the StAR-related lipid transfer (STARD) family. STARD proteins are characterized by a conserved lipid-binding domain (STARD domain) that facilitates the transfer of lipids, such as cholesterol or phospholipids, between cellular membranes. STARD8. specifically, is implicated in intracellular lipid trafficking and signaling pathways, though its precise physiological roles remain less defined compared to other family members like STARD1 (steroidogenic acute regulatory protein).
