The RASAL2 antibody is a tool used to detect RASAL2 (RAS Protein Activator Like 2), a member of the RASAL family of GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) that regulate RAS signaling. RASAL2 functions as a tumor suppressor by hydrolyzing GTP-bound active RAS to its inactive GDP-bound form, thereby inhibiting RAS-mediated pathways (e.g., MAPK/ERK) implicated in cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis. Dysregulation of RASAL2 is linked to cancer progression; its expression is frequently downregulated in malignancies such as breast, lung, and colorectal cancers, often due to promoter hypermethylation or mutations. Studies suggest RASAL2 loss enhances tumor invasiveness and chemoresistance.

The RASAL2 antibody is utilized in research to study protein expression patterns, localization, and functional roles in cancer models. It aids in identifying RASAL2's interactions with signaling components and its epigenetic silencing mechanisms.
