The ORM2 antibody targets the Orosomucoid 2 (ORM2) protein, a member of the acute-phase protein family predominantly synthesized in the liver. ORM2. also known as alpha-1-acid glycoprotein 2 (AGP2), is a glycosylated protein with immunomodulatory functions. Its expression is upregulated during inflammation, infection, or tissue injury, primarily in response to cytokines like interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-1 (IL-1). ORM2 plays roles in modulating immune responses, such as regulating neutrophil migration, influencing cell adhesion, and binding to drugs or endogenous compounds, thereby affecting their pharmacokinetics.

The ORM2 antibody is a critical tool for detecting and quantifying ORM2 in research and diagnostics. It is widely used in techniques like ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry to study ORM2’s involvement in inflammatory diseases (e.g., sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis), cancer progression, and metabolic disorders.
